JOB SUMMARY The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of daily and periodic cleaning in university complexes and ensures the cleanliness of university living areas. This position is Sunday – Thursday 10:00 pm – 6:30 am.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises daily and periodic work of employees; prepares and submits schedules and job descriptions; submits biweekly payroll and supply inventory
Performs quality control inspections and follow‑ups; meets established timelines; creates and submits work orders; monitors scheduled work to ensure timely completion
Ensures cleanliness of dormitories; coordinates various cleaning projects; receives equipment, uniforms, and paper orders
Prepares and submits employee evaluation, disciplinary action, and incident reports; counsels employees; prepares and submits progress reports of building conditions
Coordinates with leadership to review issues and concerns; maintains consistency with procedures, cleaning practices, training, and corrective counseling
Operates all cleaning equipment; submits purchase requisitions for supplies; maintains supply account; contacts vendors
Works with peer supervisors and leadership to hire, train, and monitor staff; provides performance feedback and counseling in conjunction with the performance evaluation policy
Maintains supply account; contacts vendors; with Assistant Director to review issues and concerns; maintains consistency with procedures, cleaning practices, training, and corrective counseling
May serve as a member of the emergency essential personnel staff and report to work during a closing to assist in carrying out the services of the University; performs special projects and other duties as assigned
Supervises the general appearance of assigned building; meets with assistant supervisors and custodians daily to establish schedules and provide assistance; coordinates with peer supervisors to adjust daily staffing levels as needed to meet minimum cleaning requirements
Performs other duties as assigned

Ability to maintain and order cleaning supplies, uniforms, and equipment

Ability to manage a team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and motivation
Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of projects
Ability to conduct employee evaluations, handle disciplinary actions, and provide constructive feedback and counseling
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma
Five or more years of related work experience in a hotel, hospital, or residence hall facility
Two or more years supervisory experience
