Finance Director, Aspirus Health Plan

Aspirus Health Ventures (AHV)

is a collaboration between a health insurer (Aspirus Health Plan) and a health care provider (Aspirus Health System) that began in 2016 to offer a new choice for health care coverage. The Director of Finance reports directly to the President and leads all financial activities for AHV.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate financial reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and a clear understanding of actual results.

Lead strategic planning and forecasting processes that support decision‑making across the organization.

Serve as System Financial Liaison, managing all financial health‑plan issues with the finance function for the Aspirus System, including financing, capital management, and related functions.

Experience & Qualifications

Knowledge of accounting standards acquired through a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field required.

Master’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

5 to 10 years of health‑plan experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and modeling.

Minimum of five years of experience in financial management, investment management, and debt financing, preferably in an insurance setting.

Insurance and/or healthcare industry experience.

Previous supervisory experience beneficial.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles (SAP).

Certified public accountant (CPA) preferred.

Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, decision‑making, and project management skills.
