Position Overview University of Illinois Chicago, College of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a 12‑month, Tenured/Tenure‑Track, open‑rank faculty member.

Responsibilities The faculty member will have clinical, research, teaching and service obligations. These include direct and indirect involvement in the post‑doctoral and pre‑doctoral specialty educational programs for DMD and Advanced Standing students and postgraduate residents in the OMFS department. Programmatic responsibilities include didactic, laboratory, clinical and patient care courses and other assignments for OMFS. The faculty member shall work with the OMFS Department Head and be responsible for development of the program curriculum, staff development and administrative needs of the pre‑doctoral and post‑doctoral OMFS clinical and educational programs. Research and scholarly activities are expected as well as presentations of abstracts, posters and publications in peer‑reviewed journals.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) / Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and a MD degree.

Fellowship training in head and neck oncology / microvascular reconstruction.

Completion of an ADA CODA accredited advanced education program in OMFS.

Dental (and medical, if applicable) licensure in the state of Illinois.

OMFS Board Certification by the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in evidence‑based dentistry, curriculum development and practice management.

Post‑doctoral training with an outstanding research and publication record.

History of successful procurement of internal and external grant funding on a competitive basis.

Demonstrated ability or high potential to attract external funding.

Strong commitment to interdisciplinary patient care and willingness to engage with other academic departments.

Experience in building an equitable and diverse academic and scholarly environment.

Previous university‑level teaching experience at the pre‑doctoral and post‑graduate levels.

Benefits Salary range: $250,000 to $350,000. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, a retirement plan, paid time off, and tuition waivers for employees and dependents.
