About The Role As a CBRE Union Apprentice Engineer, you will perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is within the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and fire alarms.

Assist with HVAC system tasks: install, inspect, maintain, and repair air handlers, chillers, boilers, VAVs, and rooftop units.

Replace HVAC filters, belts, and consumables; monitor BAS for optimal performance.

Support senior engineers in troubleshooting HVAC issues and maintaining performance logs.

Complete work orders, document repairs, and ensure codes and safety standards.

Oversee external vendors (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning).

Perform general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, welding, and furniture assembly.

What You’ll Need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1–2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).

Enrollment in or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship or technical training preferred.

Local 99 Union Operators license required; other certifications/licenses as required by jurisdiction.

Basic HVAC knowledge and ability to read schematics and manuals.

EPA 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.

Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in various conditions.

Strong communication, organizational skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Pay Disclaimer: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $28.00/hr. and the maximum salary for this position is $29.91/hr. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
