Overview
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is accelerating its digital transformation by adopting Databricks as its enterprise data platform and migrating all data quality processes to this unified environment. As we build a modern, governed data ecosystem, the Senior Data Quality Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring trust in our data across operations and analytics. You will partner with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and third‑party partners to proactively identify, remediate, and prevent data issues.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data quality rules, profiles, scorecards, and monitoring solutions
Proactively monitor data quality across SGWS data ecosystems
Perform root‑cause analysis to determine whether issues originate in source systems, ingestion/transformation pipelines, or consumption layers; recommend technical, process, or governance improvements
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Governance teams to implement automated data quality controls and remediation
Validate resolution of data quality issues post‑remediation and ensure sustained compliance with defined standards
Data Validation
Lead data validation efforts on strategic projects, including creation of validation plans, data profiling, rule design, and defect tracking
Document data definitions, lineage, transformation logic, and quality rules to support project deliverables (data flow diagrams, translators, defect logs)
Data Governance & Enablement
Actively participate in the enterprise Data Governance program, including stewardship of critical data elements; deliver research, discovery analysis, and presentations to advance data management and governance initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
3–5 years of hands‑on data quality experience (rules engine development, profiling, scorecards, root‑cause analysis)
Strong understanding of data structures, dimensional modeling, pipeline orchestration, and the impact of data quality on operational and analytical use cases
Experience in Power BI or Tableau for data quality dashboarding and reporting is highly valued
Intermediate to advanced SQL skills; ability to write complex queries for profiling and validation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with proven ability to influence cross‑functional partners
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Lakehouse Monitoring, Delta Live Tables, or dbt) for data quality implementation
Experience migrating data quality processes from legacy tools (Informatica IDQ, Alteryx, etc.) to Databricks
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and tools (Unity Catalog governance, Apache Atlas, etc.)
Familiarity with Python or PySpark for custom data quality checks
Certification in Databricks (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional) or Power BI (DA‑100/PL‑300)
Prior work in consumer goods, distribution, or beverage alcohol industries
