Assistant Professor of Construction Management Apply to join the Faculty of the School of Engineering at Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo), a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 4,000 students.

Department Information CSU Pueblo offers five undergraduate programs in engineering and two graduate programs in engineering at the master’s level. The construction management program prepares graduates with technical grounding in construction processes and managerial skills for planning, directing and controlling projects.

Job Description The faculty member will teach in person and online courses in at least three program areas, including Construction Estimating, Project Costing Control, Construction Law and Documents, Construction Planning and Scheduling, Structural Systems, Electrical & Mechanical Systems, Environmental Systems, Building Information Modeling, Codes of Practice, Construction Graphics, Quality Control, Construction Safety and Risk Management, Construction Methods and Equipment, and Economic Analysis of Construction Projects.

Primary Duties

Teach 12 credit hours per semester across undergraduate courses, including laboratory courses.

Prepare and present course materials, assess student performance, and provide academic support, including five office hours per week.

Propose new courses, recommend program modifications, and adjust curriculum per institutional procedures.

Engage in scholarly and creative activities producing peer‑reviewable products such as project reports, grant proposals, conference papers, books, and manuals.

Provide service to the department, college, university, and community through advising, recruiting, committee participation, and outreach.

Salary Range $60,200 – $80,000

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in construction engineering or construction management, or a closely related field, conferred before appointment.

Ability to teach in at least three of the program areas described.

Excellent written and oral communication in English and proficiency with educational technology.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification or license in Building Information Modeling, Building Codes, Construction Accounting, or Heavy Civil/Mechanical & Electrical.

Online teaching experience and ability to manage online course delivery.

Minimum three years of verifiable construction industry experience, including at least one year in the U.S.

Experience in project management, lead estimation, or site supervision.

Experience in heavy/highway construction practice.

Ability to incorporate current BIM technologies into curriculum.
