RICHARD's Project Controls department is currently looking to fill a Lead Field Project Controls position.
JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for cost, cost forecasting, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling Direct cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule alignment, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities. Directs the preparation and presentation of on-project cost forecasts. Supports project organizational and administrative activities. Provides generally non-routine cost /planning and scheduling guidance. Identifies, analyzes, and provides innovative solutions to cost and planning/scheduling problems. Responsible for weekly progress and reporting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications/Requirements:
The Individual must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the chemical, refining, or other industrial manufacturing industries
3 - 5 years related work experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost engineering
3 - 5 years Primavera P6 experience and scheduling in a construction environment is an asset
Previous capital project experience from working in a chemical plant, a refinery, oil and gas production, construction of major facilities, or government construction projects is a plus
Experience and demonstrated skill in cost functions, including cost estimating, forecasting, cost controls, and cost analysis in the field is required
Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for Project Control activities
Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to Management and Clients
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of cost accounting and engineering practices, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) creation and management
Strong knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office, including the ability to manipulate large amounts of data and perform complex functions with Excel
Proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Share Point
Experience with project control tracking, forecasting, scheduling
Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and problem‑solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions
Strong communication skills, confident interacting with management and clients in verbal, written, and electronic form
Responsible for effective execution of the Project Controls programs on an assigned project in accordance with Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) Project Controls Department Procedures
Directs project controls activities
Executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost and schedule control and analysis activities
Prepares the Project Controls plan for assigned projects
Provides leadership in terms of integrating the risk management process with other key project procedures (e.g., Change Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims)
Responsible for Construction Progress reporting
