Job Summary:

In collaboration with executive leaders, identify, improve, and support the pediatric solid organ transplant program. Create strategic planning and business development, oversee operational performance and growth objectives. Advance the pediatric transplant program in the community and execute projects to improve overall performance through operational, personnel, and fiscal strategies.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the VUMC Transplant Center and the Pediatric Transplant Medical Director to establish and grow referral networks for pediatric solid organ transplants.

Develop strategic plans, outcome measures, and ongoing strategies to ensure growth for pediatric solid organ transplant services.

Partner with Marketing, Communications, and others to develop outreach materials, external communication efforts, education and training programs, and community relations activities.

Coordinate with agencies providing organs and the timely transfer of transplantation (UNOS/OPTN) and community support agencies.

Communicate the mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Monroe Carell Transplant program to staff/faculty.

Develop policies and procedures related to pediatric transplant in collaboration with the VUMC Transplant Center and hospital leadership.

Provide input into performance appraisals of Transplant Center staff.

Implement systems and processes to optimize patient scheduling, patient flow and maintenance of patient data.

Develop and manage transplant operating and capital budgets; produce financial reviews and action plans to align with budget and growth targets.

Participate in or lead pediatric Transplant committees, workgroups, and task forces; serve on hospital and community committees as designated.

Implement, monitor, analyze, and report continuous quality improvement initiatives for the transplant program.

Ensure compliance with professional, governmental, and transplant regulatory agency standards.

Coordinate timely and accurate preparation and submission of transplant data as required by regulatory agencies.

Technical Capabilities:

Continuous Process Improvement – identify, analyze, and improve business processes.

Analytical Skills – identify, evaluate, interpret and organize data.

Project Planning – forecast resource needs, define tasks, set priorities, and schedule activities.

Process Improvement – improve existing business processes for quality.

Position Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience.

Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) required; Master’s Degree required; Transplant Experience strongly preferred.

Core Accountabilities:

Deliver projects that impact unit goals.

Conduct extensive analysis to resolve complex issues.

Lead mid-sized projects; coach and guide team members.
