High Level Overview of Role Best in class service delivery is critical to DataBank. The Core Services Service Delivery Technical Project Manager (TPM) knows all relevant details associated with deploying customer data center solutions related to space, power, network connectivity, physical security, and containment. Additionally, the Technical Project Manager collaborates with DataBank Construction Project Managers and Engineers to project manage the delivery of large-scale custom solutions for Enterprise or Hyperscale customers. This includes the delivery of custom designed Data Halls, Data Centers, or Data Center Campuses.

TPM team members are responsible for implementing engineering designs of DataBank's colocation products and services for our customers. This includes all aspects of a customer's custom design, ranging from collocation assets to critical Data Center infrastructure. TPMs own on time and on budget performance while assuring the delivery meets engineering and construction design specifications. They do this through end-to-end process & milestone management, budget tracking & reporting, and issue & risk management. An effective TPM will work cross functionally, and the ability to interact with Construction Management, Engineering Teams, Contractors, and Vendors is critical to success. The TPM provides best in class customer experience through verbal and written interaction, providing appropriate status reports that display a clear command of project details.

In addition to the above, the TPM is expected to support and enhance DataBank's award-winning culture.

Responsibilities

On site leadership presence, with primary office location in South Dallas (on location at least 80% of time with some weeks requiring 100% presence on site)

Project Manage a portfolio of large scale, multi-phase projects

Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with DataBank engineering design & standards

Provide excellent customer experience

Performance manage 3rd party vendors and contractors to project expectations, timelines, and budget

Proactively and consistently assess project risks and develop relevant mitigation strategies

Own issues associated with projects and drive resolution to assure success

Assure all systems of record are updated accurately and timely, and complete required administrative activity that allows for successful budget management, project completion, and revenue realization

Schedule and lead status calls for customers and internal stakeholders

Actively contribute to customer solution design conversations

Serve as team representative on cross functional calls related to project activity

Qualifications and Skills

Fundamental project management skills, including the ability to define custom project plans for complex or cross-functional efforts, create and regularly update status reports, effectively lead recurring project calls, track & manage deliverables/risks/issues, track & manage non-recurring cost budget and finances, achieve operational results through leadership/influence/ownership, and accurately maintain systems of record

PMP preferred but not required

Ability to manage a portfolio of projects

Excellent written and verbal communication

Mastery of all relevant details regarding the deployment of customer fit out solutions related to space, power, network connectivity, physical security, and containment

Clear experience with the deployment of Data Center Critical Infrastructure, particularly power and cooling fundamentals

Experience with both greenfield new build construction and expansion projects

Experience managing large scale data center projects (>50 MW)

Demonstrated ability to manage financial details for projects of significant scale

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage 3rd party contractors and vendors

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred

Minimum 5 years relevant Data Center industry experience
