Job Description Job Summary:

The Salesforce Platform Technical Lead will be part of the Data, Technology, and Engineering (DTE) team, supporting Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) systems, as well as integrated Slot management capabilities for patient therapy across Commercial and Supply Chain functions. The role includes collaborating with functional SMEs, understanding business requirements, determining technical requirements, leading solution design and configurations, managing DevOps resources to ensure continuous integration and continuous development/deployments, identifying and mitigating tech debt, overseeing the data object model, delivering enhancements and integrations, and contributing to AI-driven technology projects and initiatives while ensuring GxP standards are met and operational practices are documented. Operational support will scale with the Salesforce platform and business needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Lead Salesforce-based Slot management portal delivery for the Casegevy and Type 1 Diabetes therapies.

Understand system and technical needs, create, analyze, and validate detailed functional and technical requirements/specifications; facilitate design sessions with the development team to define the solution, systems design, and other GxP deliverables.

Leverage strong communication and analytical skills to document, assess, and drive technical design needs to accelerate process enhancement and operational efficiencies.

Provide input to strategic direction and contribute to roadmaps to meet long-term and short-term capability needs of the Commercial and Supply Chain business groups.

Achieve high stakeholder satisfaction and engagement across leadership levels.

Participate in planning, testing, and implementing regularly scheduled internal and vendor releases/upgrades.

Partner with offshore team members, QA stakeholders, and IT peers for platform support, enhancements, and projects.

Develop collaborative relationships with IT, Quality, Vendor partners, and other teams to design, develop, enhance, and deliver solutions that meet business goals.

Manage the end-to-end lifecycle for regulated CGT platforms supporting both Commercial and Supply Chain areas.

Facilitate release management and production release scheduling in coordination with cross-functional partners and other platform teams.

Lead platform communications (status reporting, downtime, releases) to all stakeholder groups.

Serve as Operations SME for enhancements, software upgrades, implementations, and integration projects, providing product and GxP expertise.

Assess and manage risk and mitigation to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.

Champions and educates delivery practices to introduce process efficiencies.

Define, manage, and optimize the DevOps framework and delivery operating model.

Manage CI/CD pipeline and software development capacity across teams.

Provide input into budget/forecasting estimates and resource allocation.

Coach and lead Vertex colleagues and onshore/offshore managed service providers.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Software vendor and MSP management expertise.

Executive-level communication skills; ability to explain complex topics clearly.

Ability to drive continuous operational improvement.

Proven ability to stay abreast of industry and technology trends.

Expert knowledge in Agile SDLC, DevOps, and GxP.

Functional and technical ability with configurations, customizations, and SDLC documentation.

Ability to interpret functional requirements and specifications to technical or process-driven solutions.

Experience in 21 CFR Part 11 requirements for GxP environments and relevant SDLC requirements.

Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technology field.

5+ years of relevant work experience.

Functional/Technical knowledge in Cell and Gene Therapy, Patient portal, Chain of Identity, Capacity Planning, Manufacturing slot allocation, and related supply chain systems.

Experience with Salesforce platforms and Patient and/or Product Scheduling.

Experience with Salesforce Agent and other AI automation tools.

Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry experience.

Experience with SaaS solutions and vendors.

Experience handling GxP systems and security requirements, including Disaster Recovery, Backup & Restore, Data Retention, and Archival.

Experience with Part 11 CFR 21 GxP Validation.

Experience with stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and directing platform teams.

Experience in architecture domains (business, information, infrastructure, software).

Experience working within and leading AGILE teams across multiple business units.

Nice to have Agile/DevOps/ITIL certification; Cell and Gene Therapy technology experience is a plus.

Pay Range $138,400 - $207,500

Disclosure Statement The range provided is based on a reasonable estimate for the base salary at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may be eligible for overtime pay, as required by law. Actual base salary will depend on skills, competencies, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
