What to Expect As a Sr. Software Engineer in Test you will build the automation framework, automation tools, and develop automation scripts for validating Tesla's current and next generation manufacturing system. You should have a passion for developing world class automation scripts in an Agile environment, as well as be confident working alongside developers to create automation scripts in parallel as the feature is being developed. Build functional automation scripts, both UI & API integrate with our CI/CD pipeline. We use open-source tools, like Playwright, for building the automation regression suite and these will be executed for every release.

What You'll Do

Driving automation across multiple apps and building reusable components for the automation

Developing automation strategy and end-to-end test cases across FX systems

Integrating with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions

Supporting daily releases and regression monitoring

Develop BDD Scenarios and Automation Test Suites

Work independently against aggressive deadlines

Verify the quality of data using automated scripts

Report testing status, milestones and issues to project stakeholders

Keen attention to detail and be exceptionally good at identifying inconsistencies and flaws

What You'll Bring

Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Solid programming experience using one or more of the languages: Go, Java, JavaScript/Type Script

Strong Understanding of REST and demonstrated experience with web services APIs testing/automation

Strong experience in using open-source tools like Git, stash and Jenkins

Knowledge in one or more automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium Webdriver / Appium or WebdriverJS)

Proficient in designing/creating Automation Frameworks

Experience working with J-Meter or any load testing tool

Experience in Continuous Integration (e.g., Jenkins) or Delivery and knowledge on Kubernetes and Jenkins pipelines

Strong knowledge in SQL and back-end concepts

Expected Compensation $144,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
