We are seeking Vice President of Quality, EHS, & Sustainability - Americas (Hybrid; based in Elgin, Illinois) to be responsible for developing, executing, and driving an Integrated Management Systems (IMS) regional strategy, including strategic actions, standardization initiatives, best practices, and technology in alignment with the global strategy. The VP of Quality, EHS, & Sustainability is accountable for defining regional IMS KPIs, targets, and respective regional/local results and for leading a regional team of Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Customer Success experts. This position will drive sustainability and quality efforts throughout the Region by researching and implementing best practices and will maintain close collaboration with global, regional, and local executives.
HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go‑to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed‑in value‑added products, and Product Development initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer – Americas, with a dotted line to the General Manager of Quality & Technologies, the Vice President of IMS will be key to reaching our growth targets.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Be Highly Driven To:
Lead the development of the Americas IMS strategy, standards, and processes by developing, collaborating, and implementing successful strategies
Lead efforts to increase awareness, impact, and professionalism of Quality throughout the regional organization at all levels
Drive Sustainability efforts to obtain vast improvements and innovations as well as impact a strong culture change throughout the Regional organization
Accountable for maintaining the management certificates, improving the management system and performance in Q/E/HS/CSR of HARTING
Accountable for defining and implementing the Regional/Local IMS strategy, standards, and improvement projects
Responsible for leadership of a Regional team of Q/E/HS/CSR professionals
Responsible for the definition and reporting of Regional IMS KPIs, targets and respective local results
Accountable for creating efficient Regional IMS processes (i.e. external and internal audit process, complaint handling process, PPAP Processes, H&S Standards, Environmental engineering, utilizing best practices) that align with the Global Strategy
Drive engagement for the management system and its application
Drive and manage projects initiated by the Board or MDs
Monitor and evaluate trends and best practices in fields of Q/E/H&S/CSR and implement for the Americas
Analyze, identify, and communicate current and future trends related to sustainability, integrated management systems
Act as a promoter and influencer of a strong culture of sustainability and quality for the global/regional/local team
Travel up to 30%, including international
Other duties as assigned
Must Have Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering from four‑year College or University
Advanced degree preferred
10+ years proven experience developing, implementing, and driving a regional IMS strategy
Proven experience creating future organizational structures for regional and local IMS alignment to a global strategy
Proven experience defining and driving sustainability and quality strategy programs to achieve stated objectives in a large, global company (i.e., reduction of PPM rate, climate neutral/CO2 reduction programs)
Strong desire to implement and sustain change
Proven leadership experience in driving automation and digitalization in the IMS field
Implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or other quality related standards or certifications

Compensation
HARTING’s Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage.
Competitive base salary: $180,000 - $245,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location)
This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal and company performance.
