About Your Skills
People & Change Leadership
– Build, manage, and lead high-trust, high-performance paid search managers. Set high hiring bar, coach for excellence, stay ahead of best practices related to bidding, new campaign types, ad formats, and measurement methodologies.
Enterprise Search Ads Program Management
– Scale and rebuild multi-account programs in excess of $10M annual spend while driving efficiency gains and customer growth.
Advanced Statistical Measurement
– Design data-driven statistically powered testing roadmaps, conduct A/B and geo-based incrementality tests, document learnings with analytics teams, present findings to enhance ad platform revenue.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
– Partner with Product, Creative, Analytics, Business Intelligence teams and ad partners to execute change at scale and maintain best‑in‑class program standards.
About this Role The Manager, Consumer Paid Search leads Udemy’s largest acquisition channel—a $40M+ global SEM program operating in 180+ countries and 12+ languages. You’ll set strategy, oversee execution, and manage change across ~20 Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising accounts and lead a team of three paid search specialists.
What You’ll Be Doing
Set channel objectives and key results aligning with company priorities for Marketplace revenue, subscription adoption, and profitability.
Own global forecasting, pacing, and budget reallocation across regions to meet monthly spend and revenue targets.
Drive learning and experimentation agenda with ad copy, audience, pMax, landing page, and subscription offer testing.
Advance measurement and data hygiene: own UTM and custom parameter strategy, ensure first‑party data collection, keep dashboards in Tableau and Clarisights.
Lead and coach a team of three specialists and collaborate with agency partners.
Partner cross‑functionally with product, creative, and analytics teams to adapt global program focus on subscription activation, AI reskilling, and profitability improvement.
Represent Udemy with platform partners—secure access to betas and support emerging ad formats like AI Max for Search and AI creative solutions.
What You’ll Have
Result‑oriented search expertise, constantly seeking ways to increase revenue or efficiency.
7+ years hands‑on SEM experience, including 3+ years leading teams or large agency pods.
Track‑record overseeing $10M+ annual media spent and improving ROAS and GMV at a global scale.
Deep expertise in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, pMax, Smart Bidding, DSA, and advanced conversion setups.
Familiarity with conversational AI tools and AI‑powered marketing techniques.
Fluency in analytics and dashboarding (Tableau, Clarisights) and comfort presenting data insights to C‑suite.
Strong coaching abilities, hiring, mentoring, and retaining high‑performing SEM talent.
Bonus: holistic search management and experience across SEM, SEO, and generative‑engine‑optimization (GEO).
