Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team. Key Responsibilities
Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coach performance, and ensure consistent follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassionate care and resolving insurance/medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; support technicians to learn immunization. Manage pharmacy inventory, maintain cold chain products, and coach best practices. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring timely completion of required training/ licensure. Ensure compliance with all state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalation to Rx DL as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and training for licensure. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, deliver performance reviews and close gaps. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; write or delegate pharmacy schedule. Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; build psychological safety. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills; seek continuing education. Support pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, Contraception) where permissible. Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; adhere to CVS Health policies for patient safety and controlled substances. Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and Focus: concentration, pivoting tasks, confirming prescription accuracy. Customer Service and Team Orientation: helpful, responsive, friendly. Communication Skills: verbal/written communication, active listening. Mathematical Reasoning: calculate dosages and supplies. Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose appropriate course of action. Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, repeated finger movements, visual acuity, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate, coach, motivate, address challenges, adapt, nurture performance. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Preferred Qualifications
Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3‑5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations. Physical Demands
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, bag items; reach overhead; repetitive finger use; lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally. Visual acuity for small parts; vocal communication for detailed instructions. Compensation & Benefits
Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40 Time Type: Full time Pay Range: $70.00 - $91.00 per hour. Eligible for bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program.
