The Electrical Engineer will join our team in Rancho Bernardo to support the Electrical Engineering sustainment team in resolving advanced technical issues and ensuring design requirements are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate, interpret, and resolve systems engineering problems to meet design requirements.

Develop innovative yet practical solutions to advance technical problems.

Address complex technical and manufacturing issues during the build of EMALS and AAG systems and subsystems.

Create, redraw, and update drawings using the engineering change process and tools.

Participate in internal and external technical project/program reviews, including preliminary and detailed design reviews.

Prepare and review documented design inputs for electrical design and identify obsolescence to support continuous operation of EMALS and AAG systems.

Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, coordination, and material requirements.

Review requirement matrix or statement of work to generate basis of estimates for customer proposals.

Generate plans and procedures for systems qualification testing and factory acceptance testing.

Present reports at engineering meetings and consult on problems.

Job Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or related discipline, with progressive engineering experience (≥4 years with bachelor’s, ≥2 years with master’s). Equivalent experience may substitute for education.

General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with practical application ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in an evolving environment; capable of organizing work to meet timelines.

Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to work extended hours as needed; Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate desirable.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Job Type: Full‑Time | Salary Range: $81,080–$141,650
