Export Control Requirement

Eligibility
Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
Key job responsibilities
Apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools, equipment, and handling machinery to accomplish daily tasks effectively and efficiently
Uphold all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility
Assist in the development of new and junior team members and adhere to standards and procedures
Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules
Integrate and test the Kuiper satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware
Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required
Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
Run functional and environmental testing on units, including basic troubleshooting operations
Use computer software programs for controlling tests
Check and inspect work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environment
Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
Shift schedule will vary, depending on production/launch schedules
Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand
A day in the life The Processing Technician will lead work to ensure junior technicians complete tasks and ensure procedures are adhered to and work is completed during quality and operations on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas, including mechanical assembly, propellant loading, rigging, electrical checkouts and satellite troubleshooting. In short, you will be responsible for a majority of the most critical tasks to process & integrate the Kuiper satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a fast‑paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, aviation, military or other high‑reliability operating environments
Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ESD sensitive hardware, and in a clean room
Experience with forklifts, cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment
Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
Able to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $71,760/year in our lowest geographic market up to $80,080/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
