Overview
The SKW Public Health Associate coordinates evaluation and monitoring of Safe Kids Worldwide initiatives, developing and maintaining program logic models. In collaboration with the Chief Research, Programs and Medical Officers, the Associate strengthens Safe Kids Worldwide’s ability to demonstrate impact through literature reviews, program consults, and data-driven liaison work. The role also involves planning a biennial conference on childhood injury prevention and supporting related meetings, with domestic travel as required. This position is based in Washington, DC and is not remote eligible.
Minimum Education Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Education/Promotion or Program Evaluation (Required)
Minimum Work Experience 5‑7 years of progressive experience with program and evaluation design and implementation, including professional technical writing (Required)
Preferred Demonstrated experience as an author of at least one peer‑reviewed publication and public speaking, conference or event planning experience.

Ability to effectively communicate the mission of the organization and articulate program impact.
Functional Accountabilities
Oversee development and maintenance of logic models related to SKW programming.
Oversee development and maintenance of evidence‑informed implementation guides in collaboration with the programs team.
Select and refine evaluation measures, design instruments, and build/implement program evaluations.
Monitor program outputs and impacts, and write‑up results.
Co‑author articles based on SKW program evaluations.
Review existing prevention programs for usefulness to SKW.
Provide evaluation and monitoring support to Programs, Development, Advocacy, Network, and Communications teams.
Ensures Technical Accuracy
Review published articles in injury prevention to inform SKW initiatives.
Develop strategies and assist in evaluating measures for injury prevention programs and advocacy initiatives.
Consult with staff managing programs on evaluation needs and programmatic direction and monitoring.
Fosters Collaboration with External Partners
Represent Safe Kids Worldwide as an alternate on research and academic committees and advisory groups focused on evaluation and monitoring.
Work collaboratively with staff, major sponsors, agency representatives, and outside partners to facilitate information flow and foster strong relationships.
Collaborate with Chief Research and Medical Officers to strengthen SKW program planning and evaluation capacity through strategic partnerships.
Evaluates Resource Materials and Conducts Conference Presentations
Coordinate and gather data and information for SKW resources and products.
Present SKW information to coalition leaders, sponsors, and partners.
Lead capacity‑building activities to increase impact, including contributing to program development for the SKW biennial conference.
Monitor and Facilitate Papers and Presentations on SKW Program Evaluation Findings
Monitor scholarly journals to enhance knowledge of evidence‑based practices across priority risk areas.
Author/co‑author papers and presentations documenting SKW program evaluation findings for peer‑reviewed journals and academic conferences.
Present SKW program evaluation findings to coalition coordinators, sponsors, and partners within the public health community.
Supports Implementation of an Accountability and Adaptability Culture
