Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations/ CFO, the Director of Athletics Business Operations will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Charlotte Athletics Business Office. The Director of Athletics Business Operations must possess advanced troubleshooting skills as well as demonstrate a commitment to customer service and continuous improvement. Work must be done independently, with a strong attention to detail, to manage multiple projects and meet department deadlines.
Chief responsibilities include the preparation of budget reports and the monitoring of a multitude of funds to assist in long-term forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting for the athletic department. Overall point person for all purchasing, receiving, payment processing, invoices, check requests, fleet management, inventory control, Pcard management, compliance with PCI policy, internal control, risk reduction, and audit-related activities. Review and edit contracts for signature approvals. Reconcile ticket office sales. Prepare and maintain all athletic game contracts. Process, monitor, and report on game management expenses for Chartwells, parking, and venue management.
Point of contact for documentation in the audit requests. Responsible for completing the yearly University Internal Control Audit.
Uses data mining skills to respond to a variety of FOIA requests made by external parties for the department to comply with state laws. Adhering to state, NCAA, conference, and departmental guidelines.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field and
Two years of experience in accounting, business operations, and/or finance roles, or an
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Accounting or business operations experience within the higher education, athletics, or entertainment/hospitality industry.
NCAA Division I athletics business office.
Familiarity with Banner Finance and Concur Travel or a related enterprise level system.
Familiarity with Paciolan ticketing system or a related enterprise-level system.
Strong people skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Professionalism, composure, and an ability to communicate clearly, and effectively.
