Description

Lead the development of new OLED, display optics, and color filter fabrication technologies to meet the performance requirements of a wide range of display products

Drive display and component supply manufacturers aggressively on technical innovation to achieve desired OLED optical and process performance

Leverage existing commercial and in‑house simulation tools and predict process and optical performance

Conduct technical risk assessment, root cause/failure analysis, and design of experiments to understand fundamental OLED process and optical physics; drive associated solutions and corrective actions

Closely collaborate with cross‑functional display teams and manage vendor activities

Quickly solve problems during technology development and product implementation stages; transition from proof of concept to high‑volume mass production

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or related field and minimum of 3+ years relevant industry experience

Experience in color filter process/material, or display optics, or opto‑electronics, or OLED evaporation/encapsulation, or cell process/material

Experience with photo‑lithography, or optical and material characterization, or thin films deposition and etching, or precision dispensing and inkjet coating process, or surface and interfacial science, or material chemistry and device physics

Preferred Qualifications

M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or related fields

5+ years of experience and proven track record in flat panel OLED display: materials, optics, processes, manufacturing, simulation, equipment and methodology is as plus

Experience with simulation and analysis such as optical and ray‑tracing modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), or computational fluid dynamics (CFD)

Ability to model process and optics of photolithography, OLED evaporation and encapsulation, or various flat panel display process (PVD, CVD, IJP, etc.)

High degree of flexibility—willing to fill in the gaps and being self‑sufficient when necessary

Ability to handle multiple projects, programs and tactical and strategic development efforts without direct supervision

Strong communication skills to facilitate effective cross‑disciplinary collaboration across diverse teams and cultures.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
