Job Description Rural West Project seeks a Deputy Development Director to develop and implement a scaled fundraising operation. The new staff member will join a small team of staff and consultants working to create a more civically engaged and prosperous western United States. The position will work with the Finance Director to develop and execute an overall fundraising plan for the Independents Project and other clients as assigned. This includes expanding to new prospects and strengthening relationships with existing investors.

About Rural West Project The Rural West Project represents a multi-cycle, multi-modal series of programmatic investments in center-left power building across small-population states in the rural mountain west. It is predicated on the observation that the rural-urban divide has pro-Democracy advocates facing a generational minority in the US Senate and other key institutions. It is therefore a question of when not if Democracy proponents must collectively care about building power in rural states. The Rural West Project resources in-state leaders to develop multi-modal, multi-cycle plans that link talent development, big-tent coalition formation, and disruption of local election systems and electoral narratives.
