Lung Transplant Surgeon
The Division of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Mass General Brigham is seeking a mid-level faculty candidate with interest in lung transplantation and general thoracic surgery to join as an Assistant or Associate Professor.
Responsibilities
Perform lung transplantation and ECMO care (approximately 50% of time), including harvest, implantation, EVLP, patient evaluation, and perioperative care.
Provide general thoracic surgery services for the remainder of the time.
Conduct surgeries at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Medical Center, supporting the lung transplant program two days per week.
Maintain an academic research interest, seek funding, and establish a clinical transplantation research portfolio.
Educate and teach medical students and residents on the Transplant Service.
Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, quality, and interest in robotic thoracic surgery.
Qualifications
MD or equivalent.
Board eligible or Board certified in Thoracic Surgery.
Training and experience in lung transplantation.
Eligibility for a Massachusetts Medical License.
