VP of Platform Engineering & Delivery
to join us as a technical leader and emerging executive to architect the digital infrastructure that will power our growth - designing and implementing workflow automation, building integrated systems across our service lines, creating scalable processes as we expand, and partnering with operations leaders to deploy solutions across the business.
This role reports directly to the CEO and combines technical execution with strategic impact, has significant exposure to the Board and investors. A successful candidate in the role will have the opportunity to significantly shape the technical direction of the platform and start, scale, and lead the internal technology organization for an actively growing, Private Equity-backed platform.
Core Responsibilities - VP of Platform Engineering & Delivery Build Digital Infrastructure & Workflow Automation
Design and implement business process automation for compliance delivery workflows (e.g., payroll processing, contract generation, regulatory reporting)
Architect data systems and integration layers across service lines and acquisitions
Develop internal tooling to eliminate manual processes and increase delivery efficiency
Evaluate, integrate, and manage third‑party technology vendors and platforms where appropriate
Drive Platform M&A Integration & Systems Consolidation
Lead technical workstreams for active stream of platform acquisition integrations, including systems migration and process standardization
Partner with CFO and COO to develop and execute integration playbooks
Identify and capture operational synergies through shared infrastructure and automated workflows
Build scalable processes that work across multiple business units as the platform grows
Co‑create investment theses for additional tech‑forward M&A acquisitions to the platform, alongside CEO, CFO, and Private Equity sponsor deal team
Lead Strategic Initiatives & Value Creation Projects
Own high‑impact special projects that drive growth, margin expansion, or operational improvement, with direct visibility to Board‑level stakeholders
Develop business cases and implementation plans for new technology deployments, service offering, or delivery model innovations
Partner with commercial teams to identify technology‑enabled opportunities in the market
Drive cross‑functional initiatives that don't fit neatly into existing organizational structures
Work with outside Platform Advisory Board of GovTech and commercial leaders to develop innovative service delivery and growth initiatives
Serve as Member of Executive Leadership Team
Report directly to CEO and participate in strategic planning and quarterly business reviews (QBR)
Represent technical and operational capabilities to Board of Directors and private equity investors as required
Collaborate with C‑suite and business unit leaders to align technology initiatives with business priorities
Build and maintain relationships across the organization to drive adoption of new systems and processes
Qualifications and Experience
3‑8 years of experience in technical or tech‑forward business roles with proven ability to personally build and deploy automation, workflow systems, or business applications
Strong technical foundation: proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, SQL, etc.) and experience with modern development tools and practices
Familiarity with business process automation tools, workflow orchestration platforms, or enterprise system integrations
Proficiency leveraging AI tools and LLMs to accelerate development, automate workflows, and solve technical problems
Track record of translating business requirements into technical solutions and driving them from concept to production
Experience working cross‑functionally with non‑technical stakeholders to gather requirements and drive adoption
Demonstrated ability to work independently and quickly with minimal direction in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in government contracting, compliance‑heavy industries, or regulated business services
Prior exposure to M&A integration or scaling operations through acquisitions in a Private Equity‑backed environment or commercial corporate development context
Experience in professional services, consulting, or B2B service businesses
Successful track record in high‑growth PE/VC‑backed environments
Proficient understanding of financial operations, contract management, and payroll systems
National security experience or familiarity (civilian, military, or contractor) a plus
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field (or equivalent)
Compensation: Between $200,000 and $250,000 OTE and equity participation
Location: Washington, DC region (preferred); remote and hybrid arrangements possible for the right candidate
