Position Summary: We are looking for a GPU Architect for next generation SOCs. This is a highly visible hands‑on role leading individual and team contributions to GPU sub‑system architecture, interface, performance and power tradeoffs. Responsible for anywhere from early‑stage architectural exploration, research work focusing on graphics and machine learning, defining new features, performance modeling, and hardware‑software co‑optimization.

Position Responsibilities:

Propose innovative GPU architectural and microarchitectural features to boost PPA (Performance, Power and Area) on various targeted workloads in next‑generation SOCs.

Identify and deliver GPU subsystem architecture proposals for products in new and existing markets.

Evaluate architecture proposal benefits in collaboration with a team of SoC architects and communicate the results across related engineering audiences (SW, HW, Architecture, Leadership).

Perform high‑level performance modeling/simulation and analysis of GPU features, applications, benchmarks, and complex use cases.

Deliver architecture/microarchitecture proposals and specifications to the design team and articulate them effectively across audiences ranging from hardware & software engineers to architecture community peers, and to technology leadership.

Collaborate with silicon bring‑up and product teams.

Collaborate across teams to bring architecture proposals to fruition across the SOC, Driver, OS, System through detailed documentation.

Analyze benchmarks, application workloads, and performance simulation results for architecture and microarchitecture optimizations.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Computer Science, related science or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

15+ years of relevant industry experience.

Strong background in GPU or SIMD architectures.

Experience specifying architecture and microarchitectures.

Implementing high‑level functional and performance models.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working with cross‑functional teams to drive technical solutions.

Special Attributes:

Deep expertise in GPU architecture including ISA development, core/shader micro‑architecture, texture pipeline, caching, or memory subsystem design.

Experience with GPU APIs, OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan.

Proficiency in C/C++, SystemC.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.

Relevant hands‑on experience with developing bit‑accurate architectural functional and performance models.

Analyzing benchmarks, application workloads, and performance simulation results.

Experience with hardware memory management units, prefetching or memory subsystems.

Experience with multi‑core systems and memory coherency.

ML model optimization on GPU architecture.

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

Base Pay Range

$200,000 — $300,050 USD
