How you make a difference As a Medical Director, you will provide medical oversight and guidance in accordance with the company’s security regulations and the regulations of the institution to which you are assigned. You will ensure required documentation of services is provided to the Regional or Corporate Medical Director, and serve as a liaison with healthcare providers in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical oversight to the facility medical program, adhering to existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and referrals.
Supervise the care given by other personnel and provide consultation for all professionals in the system.
Partner with the Health Services Administrator to identify problems and recommend solutions to improve patient outcomes, including establishing and maintaining Chronic Care Clinics.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to the established formulary for therapeutic regimens, and provide emergency treatment on‑site and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.
Serve as a liaison with healthcare providers in the community, consult with medical specialists, and review and approve treatment protocols, clinical policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Medical school graduate.
Experience:
Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment, maintain a current DEA number, obtain and maintain CPR certification, and maintain privileges with CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State.
Additional Details This full‑time position covers multiple sites in the area. 30 hours/week. Mileage to be covered to all non‑home site locations.
