What You’ll Do

The Sr. Financial Risk Analyst reports to the Financial Risk Manager and assists in developing, implementing, and executing on the Enterprise Risk framework and assessments in alignment with the credit unions Risk Appetite Statement and consistent with the established Enterprise Risk Management program and strategic direction.

Core Contributions

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the credit unions’ Financial Risk framework, including but not limited to, Model Risk, Insurance Risk, Credit Risk, Investment Risk, Interest Rate Risk and Deposit Risk. In addition to supporting assessments for New Products, Services, Project and Third-Party Assessments.

Continuously monitor and measure key financial risk indicators to identify emerging financial risks and assist in assessing the organization's overall risk exposure. Use quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze and model potential risks, including stress testing, scenario analysis, and simulations for key risks tied to financial transactions, cashflow, assets and liability management and investments.

Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies, such as hedging, diversification, insurance, and contingency planning. Work closely with various stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and external parties, to communicate and address risk-related issues.

Assist Financial Risk Manager with the assessment of all new and existing models used by the Credit Union, and monitor, execute, and maintain model validations to ensure timely reviews, performance accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Assist with the implementation, assessment and maintenance of insurance policies for FourLeaf in align with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.

Partner with financial risk team and first line of defense to identify, track and monitor financial risk and control gaps through the various programs for remediation, in addition to reviewing the policy and procedures for regulatory updates.

Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc Financial Risk reports and presentations for the EVP/Chief Legal & Risk Officer, First Vice President of Enterprise and Third-Party Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Employee Asset Liability Committee and Board/Board Committees.

Stay updated with applicable regulations and ensure the organization's risk management practices align with regulatory requirements. Continuously monitor industry developments, best practices, and emerging risk management techniques to enhance the organization's risk management capabilities.

Assets You Will Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, and/or Actuarial Sciences Accounting.

3-5 years’ experience in a financial institution with a related area of Financial Risk Management, Insurance Management, Stress Testing, Model Risk, Finance and/or Accounting.

Financial Risk Management Certification (FRM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must.

Preferable experience in Python, SQL, R and/or C++.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a continually changing and fast paced environment.

Strong critical thinking, problem solving and writing skills.

Strong technical and data relationship skills.

Strong insurance management background.

Strong foundation in model development, governance and risk.

Strong interpersonal communication skills to work with peers, management, and external parties, must be detailed oriented, organized and a team player.

Strong understanding of how to review and assess cash flow, assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.

Strong understanding of statistical analysis, knowledge of model risk framework is preferred.

Self-starter, seeks out opportunities to learn and grow.

Adaptable to vetting and using technology solutions for efficiency and optimization.

The estimated salary for this role is $39.45 to $47.34 per hour.
