**Job Description:****Some things you can expect to do:*** Work with project teams to lead and manage the full range of preconstruction phase activities, including estimating, design management, and project development.* Perform accurate and thoughtful quantity take-offs of all construction systems and summarize data meaningfully.* Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals.* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, OST, DESTINI Estimator, Building Connected, or other estimating and bid solicitation platforms.* Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.* Record final estimates and maintain cost history.* Support the development, architectural, and construction teams with preconstruction expertise, including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits.* Train estimators, cost engineers, and project management staff.* Provide direction for understanding project scope, market pricing, and available resources.* Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets of all types; capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs.* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with trade partners as well as designers and engineering firms.**To be successful in this role you must have:*** A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management* At least 10+ years of proven experience in the commercial construction industry.**You will really stand out if you:*** Understand construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.* Have proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.* Have subject matter expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, OST, DESTINI Estimator, Building Connected, and BIM360.* Communicate proactively and effectively, focus on customers, and display a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.* Have a history of estimating multi-family, medical, or cold storage construction.* Have established working relationships with trade partners throughout the Great Lakes region, serving various market sectors.**Eligibility:*** Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.**Compensation:**The base pay is $137,000-$205,500/annually . The salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
