Summary: The Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed independent practitioner who is responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for their assigned patient population in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care (assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status). The Advance Practice Provider generally functions as an intensivist within designated intensive care units and manages the critical care aspect of the assigned patient's intensive care stay from admission to transfer in a collaborative model assuming responsibility for primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients. The Advanced Practice Provider has a strong foundation in evidence based practice and education with a responsibility for ensuring adherence to critical pathways and protocols that ensures an environment of safe quality care. Clinical management is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members and the Advanced Practice Provider meets with their collaborating physician on a regular basis.
Other information:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure with prescriptive authority
Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area
Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Eligible for hospital privileges
Prescriptive Authority
This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
