Job Description
As part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine's efforts to modernize the CCU, the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting a full‑time faculty member to help continue to grow the CCU into a true CICU and work with our Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to manage our large and growing referral base of cardiogenic shock patients.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations
Ensure high‑quality patient care
Maintain regulatory compliance
Oversee staff, develop policies, and collaborate with physicians, APPs, and other departments to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
Coordinate care across nursing, physicians, and other departments to resolve issues and enhance patient satisfaction
Compensation Expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $223,754 (min) and $461,371 (max). This range reflects base pay based on faculty rank and years in rank and does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in variable compensation programs. Actual compensation may vary.

Qualifications This position requires an MD/DO degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license, be board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in cardiovascular medicine. The individual we seek will have US fellowship training in critical care. Expertise in echocardiography, including TEE and stress echo, and board certification in echocardiography from ACE would be highly beneficial.
