Capital Projects Senior Project Manager, Planning, Design, & Construction
Advanced project management oversight of the design and construction of major capital projects (typically over $10 million in total project cost) across all aspects of the university including educational, athletic, medical, and auxiliary (housing, dining and related) work.
Essential Functions
Assume programmed work from Planning, hire consulting Architectural and Engineering (A/E) firms to coordinate design with end users and produce permit and bid documents, procure construction services, oversee construction, move manage, and readily resolve warranty period issues.
Manage consulting A/E design firms including review of proposals, contracting, and related supervision to assure complex design needs and deliverables are achieved.
Develop solid workplans with milestones and deliverables and is accountable for on time delivery and oversight of planning and programming efforts.
Help lead in the development of university and department-wide policies and procedures for major projects through a complex decision process involving research, coordination & cooperation with other university departments.
Inform and follow university methodology of delivering work in compliance with the Planning+Design+Construction’s Project Manager’s Manual, OFCC guidelines, and university standards.
Contribute effectively and regularly to the collective team effort with a focus on standard work, best practices, and continuous improvement ideas for the capital projects team.
Serve as mentor and technically credible role model to help supervise and grow junior staff and may coordinate work of Capital Projects and other support staff.
May provide support and oversight of departmental project budget(s) and service center fee recovery to assure project management staff recover appropriate fees needed to sustain staff. May support bid and contracting needs and provide bid and contracting evaluation and recommendations in partnership with the Purchasing office. May assist in the coordination and reporting to the State of Ohio on local administration practices. May work to coordinate and provide oversight of project audits for compliance with all governing rules and regulations.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
Required Experience Seven (7) years of related experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary up to $108,000 annually based on experience
