Crestron Electronics is looking for a Director, Benefits, in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing benefits and retirement plans, compliance, audits, monitoring administrative costs and recommending cost-efficient alternatives for a workforce of approximately 1400 US and Canada employees.
Benefits Director Responsibilities
Oversee existing benefits plans and their effectiveness. Recommend plan revisions and create new plans that are cost effective and consistent with prevailing trends and corporate objectives.
Evaluate, compare, and administer employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, temporary disability, accidental death, and 401(k) and Supplemental Retirement programs. Analyze results of comparisons and develop recommendations for management review.
Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, including, but not limited to Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other applicable related laws. Keep current on federal, state, and local benefit laws and regulations for compliance purposes.
Collaborate with Benefits Broker team to negotiate with various benefits providers to identify vendors and benefits packages that are suitable for our employees and cost-effective for the business.
Create proposals for the annual benefits budget, present them to executive leadership, and oversee the allocation of approved budget and resources.
Manage introduction and implementation of new and updated benefits plans, including preparation and execution of benefits documentation such as original and amended plan benefit agreements, insurance policies, and all employee facing documentation and information.
Develop and deliver comprehensive communication strategies to educate employees about available benefits, enrollment procedures, and changes in plan offerings.
Manage Leave of Absence and Worker's Compensation process and cases.
Lead and enhance wellness initiatives and programs.
Coordinate annual open enrollment process via Dayforce HCM platform. Maximize platform utilization and efficiencies.
Maintain good working relationships with benefits providers, consultants, brokers, and auditors.
Manage and direct a staff of 2 – Sr. Benefits Specialists.
Member of HR Leadership Team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 10 years' managerial experience in benefits administration, compliance, and cost management.
Expert knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including FLMA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
Strong leave administration and accommodation experience including Family and Medical Leave, State Paid leave, Workers Compensation Leave, and Short and Long-Term Disability.
Employee Retirement Plan administration and compliance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, understand trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Experience in developing and implementing benefits strategies that align with organizational goals.
Ability to connect and work closely with benefits vendors and brokers.
Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of an organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experienced with Ceridian Dayforce desired.
