Responsibilities Peraton’s Space & Intelligence Sector is looking for a

Software

Engineer

to join our diverse team at our Herndon, VA, office. The candidate will work within a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team primarily focusing on building and maintaining systems running in a containerized environment.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of relevant experience an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement

Significant Java and Python development experience

Experience with SQL

Shell Script experience

Hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux

TS/SCI with Poly

Preferred Qualifications

Security+ or equivalent certification and willingness to serve as a privileged user supporting deployed systems testing

Experience with Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift or another variant)

Familiarity with NiFi

Experience with cross‑domain systems

Experience with JavaScript

Target Salary Range $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
