Director of Finance
to partner with our Chief Financial Officer and lead the financial operations that power our rapidly expanding hotel portfolio. This role is perfect for a leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated by the opportunity to shape a company’s financial trajectory.
As Director of Finance, you will oversee all Finance and Accounting functions, ensuring our financial resources are expertly aligned with our organizational strategy. You’ll play a critical role in
enhancing asset value across 40+ hotels , strengthening internal controls, and delivering the accurate, real‑time financial insights that support smart, agile decision‑making.

Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Finance/Accounting team to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis
Provides support, guidance and financial expertise to hotel and corporate leadership
Conduct regular and thorough financial reviews, including but not limited to: monthly financial operating statements, cash flow reports, monthly forecasts, balance sheets and capital budget expenditures
Analyze variances and trends.
Alert the CFO and Operations, as deemed necessary on significant variances from budget, forecast and internal control standards
Initiate process improvements in conjunction with Regional Finance, Regional Operations and Property Leadership teams that will enhance expense management resulting in optimal hotel profit
Collaborate with the Property Leadership teams to ensure budgeting and forecasting processes are optimized and that the hotels are achieving established targets
Re-engineer processes and reporting to assist the hotels in obtaining their strategic goals.
Evaluates and spearheads opportunities that improve business performance
Drives performance and initiates business and financial analytics to ensure performance success is achieved
Designs effective control processes to track financial performance against expectations, including early “red flags” to identify potential shortfalls
Creates a culture of compliance and financial discipline throughout the company
Recommends and manages rollout of major financial system implementations, including conversions
In conjunction with regional controllers, general managers and regional operations, manage and regulate Colwen Hotels internal controls
Review the internal and external audit reports and if necessary, ensure that corrective actions are implemented
Develop and nurture relationships with the owners. Ensure that the properties are responsive and compliant with required owner reporting and that they respond quickly to questions and requests
Attain a thorough and detailed understanding of respective property Hotel Management Agreements, and related debt and ownership contracts and obligations
Participate as a member of the “Opening & Transitions Team” and assist with the transition or disposition of the assigned properties
Serve as controller to assigned region of hotels.
Requirements
Minimum of 10+ years of multi-property finance management experience
Hospitality Finance experience preferred
Previous experience working with multi-hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, IHG)
MBA/CPA preferred
Experience with M3 and Excel required
Superior written and verbal communications skills
Excellent management and leadership skills
Effective team management and coaching skills
Ability to be hands-on and tactical as well as strategic when appropriate
Highly responsive to owners and colleagues. Owns the work product and is committed to the quality, accuracy and timeliness
Takes the initiative in leading, communicating, offering service, and in solving problems.
