Lead Medical Technologist Full-time Days - General Core Lab / Willingboro

Must have at least two years' experience as a Medical Technologist in Hematology and Blood Bank discipline.
Summary: Supports and provides technical expertise in analyzing, interpreting and validating laboratory procedures of various complexities on biological materials such as blood, body fluids, and tissues for Virtua customers.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs moderate and high complexity testing accurately and precisely according to established procedure without direct supervision. Correctly operates, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment as required.
Provides Outstanding Customer Service by demonstrating effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates, coaches and provides technical expertise to staff, students and trainees. Liaison between staff and supervisor. Assumes responsibility in the absence of supervisor.
Reviews, evaluates quality control, proficiency, and competency. Oversees the development and implementation of procedures and their changes.
Post analytically, validates results using established indicators, investigates deviations from the norm, recognizes trends or shifts, and applies corrective action.
Performs, reviews and documents all quality control according to established policies and procedures. Performs pre-analytical processes including patient ID, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, specimen verification, receipt and shipment.
Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required: At least two years’ experience as a Medical Technologist in Hematology and Blood Bank discipline, or 3 years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician with a bachelor’s degree is equivalent. Good Interpersonal and time management skills.
Required Education: Minimum of bachelor's degree in laboratory science, biological or chemical science or other relevant field.
Training/Certifications/Licensure: Valid certification as a Medical Technologist or meets CLIA '88 educational requirements for moderate and high complexity testing. ASCP certification preferred.
