The iPhone Hardware Engineering team is seeking a passionate Power Integrity Engineer. The ideal candidate will work with multi‑functional teams to design, model, simulate and verify power distribution networks (PDN) for iPhones. Description You will become part of a hands‑on development team that nurtures engineering excellence and creativity. On the team you will engage with a rewarding variety of responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Designing and analyzing power delivery networks including modeling of DC‑DC converters
Working with cross‑functional stakeholders on Power Architecture, IP specifications performance and passives.
Collaborating with Electrical and Thermal engineering teams to optimize performance
Performing design feasibility study, designing testing and verification, and system bring‑up
Providing design guideline and support to system architecture design, board layout, product bring‑up, debug, validation, and factory builds.
Integrating thermal modeling into power delivery network simulations for comprehensive system analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in EE and at least 3 years of industry experience
Must have strong EE fundamentals and problem‑solving skills
Must have experience in power integrity analysis (modeling, verification and correlation)
Must have experience in layout planning and routing strategies.
Hands‑on experience in EM and circuit simulation tools: Ansys HFSS/Maxwell/SIWave, CST, ADS/Spice/Spectre, Cadence/Sigrity, scripting languages (Python, Perl)
Hands‑on experience in hardware board‑level testing, validation, and with lab equipment (near‑field scanning, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, scopes)
Knowledge of heat transfer principles and thermal management in mobile devices.
Preferred Qualifications
MSEE or PhD preferred with 7 years of industry experience
Understanding of power delivery system in battery powered devices and its impact on system level performance
Ability to relate electrical performance to physical layout
Experience with Thermal Analysis and modeling tools (Ansys Fluent, IcePak )
Experience working with dynamic multi‑functional teams
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
