Key Responsibilities
System Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and implement secure, scalable, and resilient IT system architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
System Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system health, performance, and availability using monitoring tools, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions to ensure high uptime.
Automation & Scripting: Standardize and automate repetitive operational processes and tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
Troubleshooting & Support: Conduct high‑level root‑cause analysis of service interruptions and diagnose complex hardware, software, and network issues, establishing preventive measures.
Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and data encryption, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and project managers, and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and audits.
Capacity Planning & Management: Manage backup, disaster recovery, and failover solutions, and conduct capacity planning to forecast future growth and scalability requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science or IT.
Experience:
Typically requires 3-5 years in systems engineering or administration.
Experience with operating systems like Linux and Windows Server, virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Strong knowledge of networking principles.
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
Soft Skills:
Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Certifications and Qualifications Certifications such as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CompTIA Network+ or Security+ are preferred.
