Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician, Department of OBGYN Banner Health University Medical Center and University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson Banner Health, in conjunction with the University of Arizona (U of A) College of Medicine – Tucson, invites applications for the position of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician Faculty in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary and transformative individual to provide support in clinical outreach expansion, educational, translational research aspects of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine within a matrixed academic healthcare environment.

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division is a robust, multidisciplinary division that includes:

ACGME-accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship training program with three (3) MFM fellows.

A dynamic team comprised of clinical faculty, fellows, advanced practice providers, registered diagnostic medical sonographers, ultrasound technicians, perinatal nurse navigators, and a genetic counselor.

Comprehensive ambulatory and inpatient services, including Labor & Delivery coverage, antepartum care, high-risk consultations, advanced ultrasound, and fetal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Specialized programs in cardio-obstetrics, fetal surgery, renal disease, diabetes in pregnancy, and preterm labor and birth prevention.

A collaborative Fetal Care Program with neonatology, pediatric subspecialties, genetic counseling and testing, and advanced imaging modalities.

In addition to being a key faculty leader, the MFM candidate is expected to perform clinical duties related to the practice of Maternal-Fetal Medicine including MFM consults, prenatal diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, staffing high-risk clinic, antepartum rounds, and MFM call. The candidate would also be expected to be directly involved in education of MFM fellows, residents, and medical students. Our newly established, state-of-the‑art

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson has a well-developed research infrastructure to support early and mid-level investigators in their research endeavors.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: With approximately 30 faculty, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is comprised of three (3) divisions including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, General Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology. The department offers a four‑year ACGME-accredited residency program with five (5) residents per year, and a Maternal‑Fetal Medicine fellowship. The department fosters a strong culture of inquiry and innovation, with research spanning basic science, translational, and clinical disciplines.

will have the opportunity to lead and strengthen the division in the ongoing pursuit of excellence.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: Reporting to the Division Chief and in collaboration with the Department Chair and Dean of the College of Medicine, the

MFM Physician

will be an excellent clinical MFM specialist, innovative translational researcher, and enthusiastic educator, who can build upon excellence in existing clinical, teaching, and team‑based research programs. They will recognize the importance of developing an engaged and integrated faculty and staff to build and nurture strong cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams, including the state‑of‑the‑art Fetal Care Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or (AOBOG), and eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Arizona.

Fellowship trained in Maternal-Fetal Medicine is required.

The candidate must also be eligible for a University of Arizona appointment at the Assistant Professor/Associate or Professor rank.
