Job Overview

Entergy seeks a Project Engineer to join the Power Development engineering team. The role drives innovation and technological advancement for new power generation projects across gas, renewables, energy storage, and zero or low‑carbon technologies. Key Responsibilities

Promotes safe behavior and adherence to safety rules on project. Maintains and develops the Company’s engineering design basis documents for new generation projects. Supports and participates in technical evaluation of project proposals to ensure conformance to Entergy’s technical standards and project objectives. Participates in state regulatory commission approval activities by providing technical support for submittal documents. Interfaces with regulators as needed. Identifies engineered safety controls and hazard removal during engineering design. Supports/Leads cross‑functional teams (internal SMEs, owners engineers, EPC contractors, technical consultants) during EPC contract development. Ensures engineering documentation supports audit and prudency review. Manages creation of official Records of Decision to capture prudency of major project decisions. Acts as Contract Manager for engineering contracts outside the EPC scope. Reviews engineering design for compliance with permits, codes, utility standards, and project objectives. Coordinates with Project Managers to ensure delivery system requirements are met and deliverables produced. Participates in contractor/vendor selection to assess engineering experience and capability. Leads technical open book engineering processes and applies value engineering concepts. Verifies that all engineering firms are duly licensed in the state of the project. Ensures compliance with NERC and Security Standards. Stores all project documents in the designated repository. Minimum Requirements

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (advanced degree preferred). Experience

Project Engineer, Sr: 6+ years of progressive experience in engineering design, construction or operation of power systems; 5+ years with PE/PMP Certification/Master’s Degree. Project Engineer, Sr Lead: 10+ years of progressive experience; 8+ years with PE/PMP Certification/Master’s Degree. Project Engineer Sr Staff: 12+ years of progressive experience; 10+ years with PE/PMP Certification/Master’s Degree. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and Microsoft Office 365 proficiency. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors. Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals in at least one discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, chemical, construction). Advanced understanding of practical application of engineering science and technology to power generation. Knowledge of materials, construction methods, and QA/QC protocols for power generation facilities. Knowledge of permits required for construction and operation of power generation facilities. Proficiency with reviewing, executing, and managing large EPC contracts. Advanced critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Certifications

Desired: Professional Engineer license and PMP certification. Employment Details
