Mod Op, a leading insights-driven marketing agency, is seeking an experienced B2C communications professional to join our dynamic public relations (PR) team. This is an opportunity to work with well-known B2C companies in the CPG and consumer lifestyle spaces.
In this role, you'll be a key part of the team, leading client communication, driving strategy and working together with a team to secure media coverage on behalf of our clients. You'll also be an integral part of our new business development strategy, supporting pitches for new B2C PR engagements.
Responsibilities
Develop relationships with clients, providing guidance and driving strategic direction Act as a source of knowledge on the general consumer and consumer tech industries, supporting team members and clients Build relationships with media and proactively pitch targeted outlets, including broadcast, print and new media Work collaboratively with team members to develop and implement successful PR campaigns Oversee the development of media materials, including press kits, press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, bios, case studies and backgrounders Lead in brainstorming sessions to develop strategic/creative thinking for clients Mentor team members; aid in upskilling with respect to key PR strategies and tactics, including but not limited to, media relations, thought leadership and executive visibility, and awards and speaking programs Oversee 2-3 direct reports, assisting in the development of goals, delivering annual reports and providing regular check-ins Assist in the research and development of new business proposals
Requirements
8+ years of prior work experience in B2C PR, including agency experience Experience working at or on behalf of consumer brands, securing coverage with national, business and trade media Strong understanding of the PR process, the news media landscape, and what makes' a story B2C PR background with knowledge of corporate PR and crisis management Experience measuring the ROI of communications activities A passion for storytelling and a proven track record of securing earned media coverage Deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously Superior people and communication skills, both verbal and written Strong organizational and time management skills Team player who works well under pressure Thrives in an environment of flexibility and change Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking Ability to build relationships internally and externally, interfacing at all levels
