All About Assets Protection Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team, and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, inclusive of law enforcement.
Role Benefits The Role Of a Target Security Specialist Can Provide You With Skills using intelligence-led tactics, experience in crisis response, safety and crowd management, skills in de-escalation, and the ability to utilize Target's video surveillance system, among others.
Typical Responsibilities
Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests.
Promote a physical security culture for our team members and guests.
Respond to and document security incidents.
Respond to guest issues to ensure safety.
Use de-escalation tactics and resources during incidents.
Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension.
Prevent theft and shortages by performing receipt checks.
Document incidents accurately and timely.
Use Target's video surveillance system.
Maintain a culture of ethics, safety, and compliance.
Work safely, report hazards, and adhere to policies.
Perform other duties as needed.
Candidate Requirements If you enjoy interacting with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are flexible with work hours, this may be the right role for you. Basic requirements include being at least 18 years old, having a high school diploma or equivalent, and meeting legal licensure requirements.
Physical and Other Requirements
Ability to climb ladders, handle merchandise, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Flexible schedule, reliable attendance.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
