Be knowledgeable of and enforce federal, state and district policies, rules, regulations and procedures. Adhere to standards of professional conduct as outlined in Governing Board Policy. Follow guidelines established by the NO Pass/NO Play policy. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and on buses/vans. Support the total school athletic program by developing and implementing strategies for encouraging student participation. Ensure accurate inventory, storage, issuance, care, and collection of all athletic equipment. Adhere to District policies related to transportation, student travel, supervision, use of facilities, and key management. Schedule, organize, supervise, and proactively control practices, competitions, and pre/post season events. Maintain knowledge of the sport being coached. Manage budgets tied to the athletic program. Ensure proper supervision and conduct by all assistant and volunteer coaches. Candidate must be at least 21 years old. Possess current CPR certification. Meet coaching qualifications, course requirements, and certifications as per federal, state, and District criteria. Pass background investigation as outlined by the District. Be recommended by Principal or designee and receive Governing Board approval. Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Additional Qualifications for Head Coach
Maintain and manage budgets for the athletic program. Ensure proper supervision and conduct by all assistant and volunteer coaches. Additional Requirements
Possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate (for Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels). Lower-Level coaches must be supervised by a certified staff member if not certified. Volunteer Coaches
Must always be under supervision of a full-time certified staff member, designated via PUHSD approved process. Supervision
Received by Unit Principal, Assistant Principal, or Certified Staff Member; given to Assistant Coaches and Volunteer Coaches. Additional Information
