Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our future team will focus on building input systems on ChromeOS, ensuring that OS events are correctly processed and delivered to application and system UI layers. You will help ship a great input experience on our devices, develop frameworks for rapid issue resolution, and build platform user experience for human interface devices with our peripheral partner ecosystem.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $166,000–$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Responsibilities
Work with cross‑functional teams and engineering managers to develop OS features that enable next‑generation touch technologies.
Write firmware, drivers and interfacing code in C, C++, Objective‑C or Python for touch controllers and stylus.
Create and execute plans to bring‑up, debug and validate designs to achieve functional and performance goals.
Design basic software GUI to demonstrate the feature.
Present results to both internal and external engineering teams.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
3 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
Preferred qualifications
5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
3 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
