Base pay range

Automation & Telecom Commissioning Engineer
for a major infrastructure project in Brooklyn. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic commissioning individual to join a true global leader in onshore and offshore construction.
Please Note (Important Information)
This is a 4-5 month contract position with option(s) for extension, additional training or a transition into an offshore role if/when available.
Pay Rate is negotiable, but expected to pay between $70.00 - $90.00 per hour (+ overtime)
No accommodation or travel allowances will be provided – candidates are expected to be able to reliably commute to Brooklyn, New York
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate contractors across all phases of commissioning, ensuring clear communication and safe, efficient execution
Work across multiple site locations including onshore substations, site offices, and temporary facilities
Keep project progress, documents, drawings, and completion systems accurate and up to date
Support procedure updates, cross team coordination, and weekly planning and safety meetings
Manage Commissioning Queries, conduct Mechanical Completion checks, and drive punch list closeout
Review contractor commissioning plans for safety, clarity, and readiness
Support Site Acceptance Tests and assist in identifying required spare parts and equipment
Ensure field issues are raised, tracked, and resolved in alignment with commissioning requirements
Qualifications
3+ years in project commissioning experience, preferably within a substation and/or automation environment
Background in large project commissioning
At least 5 years of New York project experience
Ideally degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline (experience can override this in some occasions)
