Senior Product Development Engineer (Terminals)

will be responsible for managing 3D model development (50% of the day), 2D print development/library release (15%), and lab interactions (35%) related to terminal systems. This role leads engineering activities for assigned programs to ensure products meet customer and company specifications and that milestones are achieved. It involves coordinating and monitoring the engineering process and providing guidance as needed. The engineer may also manage or lead support engineers and technicians. Development activities include, but are not limited to: 3D CAD proposals, DOE with prototyping, preparing DFMEAs, material selection, managing FEA, design modifications, drawings and stackups, plant support (design for manufacturing), and service manual development. Must haves: Experience with terminal system product development (design attributes and industry standards) 3D modeling skills (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or UG); proficient in using CAD for design reviews Knowledge of part design for progressive die and injection molding (cavity development) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Support customer and internal drawing releases Self-motivated communicator Effective information sharing Ability to work within a diverse, global team with varying experience levels Leadership skills to guide designers and lab technicians towards project goals Adherence to APQP processes for project documentation Bonus: Experience with benchmarking Lear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to diversity in the workplace.
