Summary

Clark Hill PLC’s Reno office is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience, be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel— including styles, complex document creation, and formatting), and demonstrate strong teamwork abilities. This position reports to the Las Vegas Office Manager and provides legal secretarial and administrative support to attorneys and LAA teams. It is a 40‑hour per week, non‑exempt, hybrid role that requires in‑office presence three days per week.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

  • Maintain attorneys’ calendars and arrange travel.
  • Provide administrative and litigation assistance to Team Lead and assigned teams.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings and contracts.
  • Record time entries.
  • Create letters, memos, and reports; prepare and distribute office correspondence.
  • Enter conflict information into the system for conflict checks and opening new matters.
  • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending bills, and resolving billing issues with the billing attorney.
  • Understand and meet internal customers’ needs.
  • Complete and submit check request forms.
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Receive training on technology applications used across the firm as needed.
  • Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
  • Electronically file motions with the appropriate court system(s) when applicable.
  • Provide documentation to clients and opposing counsel as required.
  • Manage incoming phone calls and inquiries (as required by attorneys).
  • Perform billable work if qualified and on an as‑needed basis.
  • Conduct other duties or tasks assigned by the Office Manager, attorneys, paralegals, or Business Unit Leader.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • 3–5 years of successful experience as an Administrative Assistant or Legal Secretary (required).
  • Preferred experience in the specific or related practice area.
  • Preferred experience in Litigation.
  • Knowledge of Nevada civil procedure in the First, Second, Third, and Eighth Judicial Districts, U.S. District Courts, Nevada Supreme Court, and Ninth Circuit (plus).
  • Knowledge in specialty areas such as Department of Taxation filings; legislative documents for the Nevada Legislature; and documents for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (plus).

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range at the time of posting is $65,000–$80,000 annually for a full‑time schedule, based on qualifications, experience, skills, training, internal equity, and market data.
