Advanced Heart and Lung Failure and Transplantation Fellowship The Cleveland Clinic’s renowned Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute offers a one-year comprehensive surgical fellowship in the management of advanced heart and lung failure and transplantation. This program provides extensive hands-on experience at one of the most active transplant centers in the world. Graduates of this program are highly sought after in the marketplace and many have become surgical directors of transplant programs within a few years of graduation. Base pay range: $82,826.00/yr - $115,138.00/yr The program provides exposure to high-volume cardiac surgery and advanced transplant techniques with a focus on adult heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. Clinical Responsibilities Active participation in candidate evaluation and selection for heart, lung, and combined heart-lung transplantation Technical surgical training in: Heart and lung transplantation Durable and temporary mechanical circulatory support Perioperative care of transplant and mechanical support patients Involvement in high-risk cardiac surgeries, including those requiring temporary MCS Eligibility Requirements Completion of one of the following: Integrated Thoracic Surgery Residency 4+3 Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Traditional Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship (2 or 3 years) Graduation from a Canadian-accredited Cardiac Surgery Residency Must qualify for a full Ohio medical license About Cleveland Clinic Cleveland Clinic is one of the world's largest and busiest health centers.
