What to Expect Tesla's Supplier Industrialization team is responsible for critical component development, qualification and sustaining quality activities at suppliers. The job involves communicating well with internal and external teams, traveling to suppliers in different regions, and on-the-spot critical decision making.

The goal: delivering on time quantities of high-quality component parts into Tesla's production processes to enable extremely rapid development cycles and product launches.

What You'll Do

Plan, organize, direct and conduct industrialization related activities within the Supply Chain team

Develop, manage, audit, improve and correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques and quality control processes from the advanced development phase to mass production qualification

Lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality

Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Tesla Purchasing, Quality, and Design teams

Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics

Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers

Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction

An average of 40% travel, possibly on short notice

What You'll Bring

Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering or equivalent experience

2+ years of relevant plant experience working directly with knitting, weaving, Coated Textiles or similar in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role

Additional languages are a strong plus: Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese, German

Automotive experience strongly preferred

Experience in Supply Chain field is preferred

Understanding process engineering principles of wrapped final products

Experience in Quality Systems a plus: APQP Process and PPAP Knowledge

Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level

Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques

Expected Compensation

$85,760 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
