The organization has distributed over half a billion items in the past 14 years to children in homeless shelters, domestic‑violence programs, foster care, hospitals, and school districts, as well as children and families affected by natural disasters. Baby2Baby’s success is propelled forward by its industry‑leading model that redefines nonprofit operations through a seamless integration of impact, innovation, and influence. Baby2Baby is entering a significant period of expansion as it launches a major capital campaign and prepares for a new national headquarters and warehouse facility slated for completion in 2027. This investment reflects the organization’s move from rapid scaling to building long‑term infrastructure and expanding its operational capacity. The new facility will strengthen national distribution, increase efficiency, and position Baby2Baby to serve even more children with the essential items they need.

Position Overview Reporting to the COO, the Vice President, Finance provides executive‑level oversight of Baby2Baby’s financial strategy, operations, and forecasting. The VP ensures strong financial management across the organization while supporting a culture of accountability, efficiency, and clarity. The VP partners closely with senior leaders and outsourced accounting partners to strengthen budgeting practices, enhance internal controls, and evolve financial systems to support Baby2Baby’s growth.

This role plays a central part in the organization’s capital campaign and collaborates directly with the COO on long‑term financial planning, policy development, risk management, and investment oversight. The VP serves as a key advisor to leadership, offering strategic insights that help balance ambitious program goals with sustainable financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities Leadership

Collaborate with COO to advance budgeting, finance, and administrative practices with a focus on excellence and continuous improvement.

Translate organizational goals into actionable financial strategies and support leadership decision‑making with clear analysis and data‑driven insights.

Provide operational partnership across distribution, community, and volunteer programs.

Work closely with department heads to prepare and update annual budgets and rolling forecasts that reflect organizational priorities.

Partner with the COO on program planning through cost analysis, compliance oversight, and financial modeling.

Financial Management

Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, including revenue planning, internal reporting, and forecasting.

Serve as liaison to investment advisors to ensure alignment with policy and organizational risk guidelines.

Lead the budgeting process and oversee banking, cash flow, and internal financial controls.

Maintain accurate reporting of cash and in‑kind contributions and ensure adherence to nonprofit financial regulations and audit standards.

Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and dashboards for organizational leadership and the Board.

Strengthen reconciliation processes between Development and Accounting to ensure accuracy in fundraising and finance reporting.

Operations & Administration

Evaluate and enhance financial and administrative processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Oversee contract management with vendors, donors, and partners, supporting legal matters in partnership with outside counsel.

Manage organizational insurance renewals and related compliance obligations.

Partner closely with Human Resources on payroll processing and benefits administration.

Capital Campaign Planning & Oversight

Lead financial projections, reporting, and modeling for Baby2Baby’s capital campaign.

Prepare financial documentation for funders and external stakeholders.

Support budgeting and cost tracking for campaign‑related expenses and building initiatives.

Ensure compliance with financial and real‑estate regulations throughout the campaign.

Oversee budgeting and financial planning related to the renovation and build‑out of Baby2Baby’s new headquarters.

Required Qualifications

Extensive senior‑level experience in nonprofit financial leadership, ideally serving as a VP of Finance, CFO, or equivalent leader within a complex, multi‑million‑dollar organization.

Proven ability to steward the financial health of a growing nonprofit with diverse revenue streams, significant in‑kind contributions, and high‑volume program operations.

Deep understanding of nonprofit GAAP, audit preparation, compliance standards, and financial regulations that govern philanthropic, government, and in‑kind funding.

Demonstrated success leading organization‑wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes that support both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term strategic growth.

Experience building and strengthening internal financial systems, controls, reporting structures, and cross‑departmental processes.

Strong history of partnering with executive leadership, offering clear financial insights that inform organizational strategy and operational decision‑making.

Direct experience overseeing or supporting major fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns or large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Skilled in financial modeling, scenario planning, risk assessment, and data‑driven decision support.

Ability to manage and mentor finance staff and work effectively with outsourced accounting partners.

Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to translate financial information for both financial and non‑financial audiences.

High level of integrity, judgment, and discretion, with a commitment to advancing the mission and impact of a national nonprofit.

Compensation and Benefits In addition to a base salary of $180,000 to $200,000 per year (DOE), Baby2Baby offers a robust benefits package which includes 100% medical and dental coverage for employees, vision benefits, long‑term disability, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan, through which Baby2Baby matches 3% of the employee’s compensation per calendar year. The organization also offers PTO, sick leave and Summer Fridays in addition to three personal days granted each calendar year.
