Responsibilities
Transfer product into and out of storage areas.
Pick product for customer orders.
Load product to trailers.
Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
Pull orders accurately as assigned.
Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation to retain product accountability throughout the logistical process.
Enter data into WMS computer systems.
Participate as a member of the Team in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
Attend appropriate team meetings.
Foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes; identify gaps and work with the team leader to resolve them, actively seeking ways to achieve synergy.
Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and communicate concerns and improvement ideas, considering the impact of individual actions on the systems.
Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
Physical Activities While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Will use freezer suit, composite/steel-toe boots, and other protective equipment as needed or required.
Technical Experience 1-2 years of warehouse experience. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel). Working knowledge of WMS systems.
Industry Experience 1 year related warehouse/freezer experience or 1 year experience with powered lift equipment.
