Software Project Manager
to join the team supporting Lunar Gateway's Power and Propulsion Element through our partner, Barrios. Note:
We are actively seeking qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, the position has not yet been finalized or officially opened. We believe it will be approved soon, so we are identifying candidates and conducting interviews in anticipation. The
Software Project Manager
will: Oversee activities related to software development, design, testing, and delivery of system and subsystem software components. Drive project success by managing performance, scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change management throughout the project lifecycle. Manage change and innovation by performing change assessments, supporting change control boards, and managing software modifications and designs for sustainability. Build high-performing teams to meet emerging requirements, ensuring standardized processes and resource alignment. Develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans to ensure timely execution. Ensure the creation of impactful artifacts, including requirements, verification and validation documents, architecture definitions, and test plans. Create planning documents, status reports, and briefs to keep stakeholders informed. Proactively manage risks by identifying, assessing, and implementing mitigation strategies. Foster collaboration through organized project meetings and stakeholder engagement. Conduct assessments to evaluate project progress and identify improvements. Participate in management planning to optimize operations and set organizational goals. Support continuous improvement in processes, efficiency, and innovation. Review software development and test schedules to ensure alignment and track progress. Coordinate with labs and Maxar on delivery schedules and resolve disconnects. Participate in software verification reviews and resolve issues related to test methodologies and results. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; 5-10 years of relevant experience. Experience in software development, operations, and sustaining engineering. Progressive project management experience with a track record of delivering complex projects. Knowledge of project management principles, CMMI, VersionOne, and change management processes is preferred. Preferences: Experience in aerospace hardware/software development or systems engineering. Certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master are advantageous. Proficiency in MS Office tools and project management software. Why Join Us?
