The Manufacturing Engineer will design, qualify, and implement production machines and processes essential for printing and converting flexible packaging. This is an operational position with an emphasis on hands‑on execution, including designing, installing, and maintaining production equipment, safety features, tooling, racking, and inventory systems. The Manufacturing Engineer ensures equipment reliability and production efficiency, with strong attention to safety, quality, and operational readiness. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Conceive, design, and qualify manufacturing machinery, including safety guards, racking systems, tooling setups, and layout modifications to support converting and printing operations. Install and commission safety guards, tooling, racking, and machine attachments, working directly on the floor and collaborating with maintenance and production teams to ensure proper setup. Evaluate current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and waste. Apply lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., root‑cause analysis, kaizen) to drive productivity, cost savings, and quality improvement. Investigate machine issues, performance bottlenecks, or quality deviations; develop practical corrective actions to ensure continuous, safe operation. Create and maintain documentation, such as machine layouts, flow diagrams, SOPs, standard work instructions, cycle‑times, and tooling inventories. Ensure that all equipment designs and modifications comply with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., food safety, GMP, HACCP), prioritizing a safe manufacturing environment. Work with cross‑functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and procurement teams to align engineering initiatives with operational needs, tooling requirements, and supply chain availability. Train operators and maintenance personnel on new or modified equipment, tooling setups, safety features, and standard procedures to ensure operational competence and ownership. Establish and maintain tooling inventories, repositories, and organizational systems to ensure quick setup, proper storage, and traceability of all operational tooling. Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in manufacturing engineering, including hands‑on machine installation, equipment qualification, and safety systems implementation are essential. Strong command of CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office suite with proven ability to learn complex new software programs. Experience with tooling design, machine guarding, and physical layout implementation. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Comfortable and competent with hands‑on tasks, including physically installing hardware, interacting with machinery, and routinely engaging on the shop floor. Deep commitment to safe work practices; ability to interpret and apply safety regulations in equipment design and installation. Strong project management, problem‑solving, and organizational capabilities; able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and respond dynamically in fast‑paced environments. Professional proficiency in verbal and written English including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse operational teams and external vendors/OEMs. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs, climb, bend, kneel, and work in varied manufacturing environments. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to noise, temperature variations, and physical activity. Preferred Qualification Experience in flexible packaging, printing, or a related manufacturing industry. Familiarity with food and/or medical grade manufacturing standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO). ERP system experience strongly preferred, ideally EPS Radius. CMMS experience. Pay $75,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year Flex Your Potential with Eagle! Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%. Company Paid Short-Term Disability – The Short-Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle. Company Paid Long-Term Disability – The Long-Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle. Life Insurance – The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children. Vacation/PTO – The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment. 8 Company Paid Holidays – Eligible after 60 days of employment. Sick Leave – Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year). Tuition Reimbursement – Following 6 months of employment, employees are eligible for reimbursement for courses, certifications, and training programs that support their Eagle careers. Part-timeteam members are provided with the following benefits Vacation/PTO – Eligible to earn 1 hour of vacation/PTO for every 40 hours worked up to a maximum of 40 hours of vacation/PTO. 401K Plan – Plan entry date is the first of the month following 6 months of service.
